Paint comes off with masking tape
Been having a problem with paint coming off when I remove masking tape. I use white glue and water mixture instead of dope on the tissue. I'm using Testers Model Master paint. When I remove tape, paint comes off right down to bare tissue. Tried all different types and brands of tape. Any suggestions? Very frustrating!

One factor is the length of time you leave the tape on the surface. I remove the masking tape right after I put on the last coat of paint. There may also be some incompatability with the paint and surface. You might try acrylic paints.
Look at the Painting with Acrylics messages in this forum. MIght be some clues there.
By the way, which model are you building?

I have these two planes in my hangar waiting to build. Because there is a lot of plastic pieces involved, I started with the 400 series Guillows' models experimenting with different build techniques. This board was like a godsend as I can see a vast improvement in my work. Many of the topics here are informative and a quick scroll through them will allow you to gain valuable information on all facets of your build.
Why don't you post pictures on the virtualaerodome.com website? Even if you don't post pictures of your work, some of the "in progress" work and completed projects are amazing.

tape
Try using paper medical tape that you can get at the drug store. I use the generic brand and you get a lot for 3.00$ Its wide enough to cut. swipe it on your pants first to cut the adhesive and try on fabric.
been building for 30 years

Pactra has an excellent masking tape for modelling and usually is available in most hobby stores. Also, I have had excellent results with Stotch Blue Painters tape...noticing that this tape has different levels of adhesion from sensitive(low) to High. Recently had great success with the adhesive part of the kraft type paper tape used for interior trim tape. A thought is that perhaps your paint stripped because you did not let it cure (dry) long enough...for some reason your mix of the dope when applied was not enough...and as previously suggested...you left the tape on too long................Luck, JGJ
