In this case I cut cirlcles of masking tape out using a compass cutter and stuck them on the middle, masking like this is ok since the middle is the natural colour of the plastic. The black is just rattle can hobby enamel.
To get the insides neat and coloured (say silver which is common) you can shove the wheel hard onto a cocktail stick or round tooth pick (both of which are tapered) then spin it round in a very slow moving drill held in a vice whilst holding the brush still.......

The glazing was a bit fidley, esp. the windscreen. It looks ok though. I somehow managed to loose the celuloid with the kit so used a piece of the front of a cake box instead.
I think I should be able to finish this up tomorrow, the problem is that the weather has been awful over here in the last few weeks so getting the chance to fly might take a while......

You can braid the motor. Jim's thread on his super cub 95 gives the details of doing this. This makes it so there is tension in the rubber even when it's un-wound. OR simply let the prop fall out only the last 50 winds or so will be left, as a bonus it upsets the balance and stops your model going out of sight!

Well it's finally done. There are a couple of ommisions from the plan. The shock absorbers as per the plan are no more than a joke. The first landing would see them break off and more likely than not puncture the tissue. I also forgot to fit the air intake on the front!
Some pictures of it. Once I get a nice day for flying I'll post some pics/video

I've made up a spacer and glued it into the nose to ensure that the prop now clears the nose, I angled the spacer so it gave a bit of right and down thrust as you nearly always need a bit.
I've also now balanced the model, in fact there was no balancing to do, I simply wound up the rubber 100 turns to ensure it was evenly distributed Ii did not braid this motor) and held it with tape and rested it on my fingertips at the right place and it looked good straight away. The glide from the bedroom door onto the bed looked good so I'm set to wait for the weather to clear up. Hopefully I'll be able to drag my missus along to video it.........

I finally managged to ge the magic combination of both having time and the right weather for a first trimming flight. I needed to add some weight to the nose to perfect the glide. Also it became apparent that it needed a considerable amount of down thrust to keep the nose down under power. I managed to catch on video the last loop or so of what was a 25s or so smooth circular flight. To get the downthrust I wedged in some packing which I think moved a bit giving the erratic end to the flight. I'll make a more permanent thrust adjustment before having another go
