Top row shows hollowed out back side of kit wheels after mod....center row shows front side...black wheel is sharpie marker ...alum hupcap is sticky backed alum foil used in model car building...I am going to redo the hubcap as my knife was dull cutting the circle jagged....the bottom row is foam wheels about 2.8 grams a pair....hollowed of hardwood came in at 4.4 grams a pair.

I used the Du-Bro "sport" wheels for mine. They have are white plastic with a wide 5 spoke design. They come in various sizes. My Arrow weighs 43 grams and should fit right in to the P-30 competition that AMA has. I will be home on Friday and will have a month at home. Will post pictures and hope to do some flying with my local squadron and finish up some projects. I would like to help "evolve" the Arrow into a competition flyer!

I also favor those same wheels as Mitch. They look nice on those style planes too, as well as being very functional.A TOG is no problem. They roll Very nicely, and have a good diameter.

Thanks Guys for the tips on the white spoke wheels, I will give them a look. Mitch , I would very much enjoy comparing notes as we both try to get the most out of our Arrows...did your Arrow need any clay to balance? And if so...did the clay go in the nose or tail? The reason I ask is I am kicking around an idea...as the Arrow has a nice long nose...and the landing gear is somewhat heavy...maybe the landing gear could be installed very late in the build...during the balancing of the model? My thought was to have the model done complete with prop and rubber motor installed...than slide the landing gear forward and back perhaps 1/2 inch or more in hopes of finding balance point with no added clay or very little if lucky?...I know if go way forward the wheels would interfere with prop...to far back and the plane will want to nose over on landing....but if I were a betting man, I would bet there is some adjustment to be had. I will have to very temperary tack mount gear to get a balance reading and likely modify the way the gear wire mounts to fuse as well...I welcome any thoughts on the matter...positive or negative

The balance point is in a weird spot too. usually its at the thickest part of the wind, but these Lancer/Arrow,and Javelinn put it way back near the TE.

I just got back home... OFF for 33 days!

AND the forecast is for 80 degrees and sunshine in Seattle!

My Arrow has NO ballast and balance seems okay. The landing gear should be secured in the model before covering. I have had fair flights but was only using Guillows kit rubber. I want to use more, but need to first change the front end.

That is a Great looking Arrow....I always seem to struggle with color scheme.
