Re: Who wants an early Christmas present?
i got the P-17 Strearman. didn't open it til today. I have been staring at my P-40 for days looking for imperfections. I was planning on buying this kit. they have it at the Hobby Store. I have put off buying it because I knew It was out of my skill level at the time, but I'm confident now. Dale's instructions are clear enough, and I get the point. It's part of their R&D that luckily, I and a few others happened to benefit from. I have no idea how quickly Dale expects a response. This thing is not like a 500 kit I Assemble in a couple weeks. It's intricate with 3 or 4 pages of instructions, and I've followed the builds because like i said I wanted this kit anyway, and believe there already exists a couple problems/confusing points on build. Thanks Dale.

Re: Who wants an early Christmas present?
I opened up the avenger kit today. I am very impressed with the laser cut wood. I also noticed that all they did was add the laser cut sheets and the identification plan to the existing kit. Which means I got all of the die cut sheets as well. So when I am done with the laser cut kit I can build another Avenger out of the die cut parts.

Re: Who wants an early Christmas present?
I received the Messerschmitt BF109, all I can say is wow. The quality of wood and laser cutting is awesome and I cannot wait to get started. The die cut wood that came with the kit had an average weight of 10.1 LB/FT, not bad but pretty bad die crushing. The laser cut wood came in at 8.1 lb/ft, now that means this bird will fly and the laser cutting is crisp. Now time to get started.

Hi fellow model builders,
I'm not trying to tell you what to do but, Dale wanted feedback emailed to him not, done through the forum.
I'm really excited about these new kits, too.
Peace.

Re: Who wants an early Christmas present?
Hi All,
Just home for a day and received my package from Guillow's...

The top box is my die cut model I have had for more than long enough and planned to start to build... The bottom box is the NEW kit from the Guillow's team! All I can say so far is the the weight of the wood feels good and the parts look GREAT!
I will be on my ship for the next 3 weeks in the Gulf of Alaska... I told Dale I plan to start production after Christmas...when I am home!

Mitch:
If your proto kit is like the one I rec'd, you now have 3 sets of wood parts. I think you know where I'm going, but the plastics for that kit don't cost much, and if you had em you'd have 3 kits, so.... Let's see, one is rubber powered and light weight, one is full blown "action" static, and the last? A remotely piloted drone?
Just sayin'...

Re: Who wants an early Christmas present?
Bill et al...
Yes, the kit I received is a die cut kit with a sealed package of laser cut parts. So all the other parts are the same. So, as Bill says, minus the plastic parts I have 3 kits of the Thunderbolt! I almost have a wing! I wrote to Dale and will be starting my model at home after Christmas.
I still have 2 other models to work on and have 2 more trips to Alaska. I will be building the Porter and the Beaver... that reminds me... I have to send in an order to Guillow's for the Beaver floats. Planes with floats get EXTRA points for judging at FAC events!

I received my kit in the mail today and the laser cut parts are great. Significantly lighter than the die-cut. Can't wait to start building.
