I did see this video on RDF rubber duct fan powered model airplanes. http://youtu.be/PSWVOkaLaPs.
I'm going to be attempting a rubber powered pusher prop set up on this build.

Well I have been able to get some framing done on the A 7 Corsair ll. So far seems like it just might work but who knows I still have along way to go. The wings will requires a Anhedral.

I noticed that Hobby King now sells brand new Cox .049 motors and accessories. Wow. I have my ole .010 Pee Wee motor, I dug it out of storage. I may try to incorporate it into a FF Jet project in the future.

I have a dream to get the Guillow's kit F 14 Tomcat to fly. This whole thread is about that dream. I honestly don't think it can be done but i'm going to try anyway. I think that a Cox motor maybe could fly the F 14. At the moment i can't say it could not.

You might consider scaling up the plans. Even a small decrease in cube loading and increase in Reynolds number boosts performance and will make it easier to fly and more crash resistant.

anything can be done if you dont give up. yuo can find a way. probably fail a million times first, but eventually..... I still can't land an RC plane in one piece, but I aint gonna stop destroying them til I learn!

Re: Free Flight Jet models.

Thanks David for the advice.
I decided to try and finish this "Build". I'm not doing this to get Guillow's to make a new kit. What I hope to do is get them interested in printing plans sheets. If/when I finish this Build I plan on sending a picture to Guillow's Model Pictures.
I used to think I had an interest in RC model airplanes. After smashing up a few RC planes. I realized that what I really liked was Free Flight much better. I'm not trying to put down RC it's just my preference is in Free Flight. I don't know, when the weather is bad, I enjoy flying micro RC helicopters in my basement.

Re: Free Flight Jet models.
Looking pretty good for a quick, ad hoc build. 25 grams is a bit heavy for a peanut sized model, but I have seen peanuts weighing twice that fly. You might want to trim down that rear plug since it looks like a built in dive brake. David Lewis' suggestion of scaling up the plan is good. I think this will be much easier to trim with about twice the wing span and not much more weight. Having done a couple of rubber powered jets, recently, I've begun to realize just how much fun these things can be. Good luck with your flying.

Re: Free Flight Jet models.
Thanks everyone for the great advice on this build. Weather permitted some backyard trimming. i.e. 100 winds or so. Model had a terrible spiral. I was able to straighten it out by adding some balancing clay to the wing. Way too early to tell but I'm still hoping will fly.
