Re: Cessna 180 Group Build
I never mind getting advice... I think all the pieces are done, but not assembled... When I got off the ship with this model (Some time ago) I was suppose to finish it... But alas... that was not to be. Sometimes I do not finish what I start
Going back to my ship now and the Fokker Factory

Re: Cessna 180 Group Build
Hello All,
I too am late to the party, but I have a 180 kit in hand and am going to start back at the start of this thread and see what I can do.
It has been way too many years, but I used to build and fly r/c gliders, so I am used to trying to build light and straight.
My goal is to try and take some of these smaller Guillows kits and electrify them for indoor r/c flight. I also want to try my hand at rubber powered outdoor flight, so I see I am in the right spot to get all sorts of info.
I have everything I need for this model, except for some decent rubber for the motor. Anyone know of a Canadian supplier?
Cheers
Tom

Re: Cessna 180 Group Build

Thanks for the advice Andrew. Gathering parts for filling in the gaps. I think I will fill
in top and bottom. The clay weight fell out in the crash. I would prefer to add more
balsa and less clay. Tail of a Lancer in the photo just for fun. Adam

All balanced and ready to go. No extra weight added. AUW with the rubber 32.5
Now I need a calm day. I hope to get a video, stay tuned. Adam

Re: Cessna 180 Group Build
The attempt was made, but it was a failure. Wind was about 5mph or less but the temp is
30 degrees. I got about 250 winds and the motor snapped. Rubber was lubed but I think It was
just too cold. The Lancer had a 20 second flight with around 200 turns. I think I will wait
until April for next try. Adam
