CloudBuster and Flyboy - an evolutionary experience.

Seeing a couple of comments about the Goldwing glider on this forum currently, we decided to share our experiences with the glider. It is a simple to build model and flies well in our backyard via swing control and is fun to modify into a variety of fine flying craft. We had the opportunity of obtaining 2 GWs in a couple of Comet Bilf-N-Fly kits a while back for super low price(check first page of this thread.) We started building the kits several years ago and they have provided great enjoyment and a wealth of knowledge of model building and the activity of swing control model flying.

Thank you, Scott, for your comment. I see in the Goldwing build thread that you are building Flyboy. I'm interested in seeing how it goes for you. If you browse thru this thread, you will notice that I have built a few of them over the past few years and them have worked out quite well for me.

Stuff has become sorta busy since our last post. One is a birthday gift of a refurbished laptop from my wife. It is super fast compared to the old destop we were using before, but this newer windows 10 is a lot different than the XP we were using and is a bit of getting the hang of it.

Since the Gold Wing, we've renewed an interest in a couple of other models in this thread, the Super Cloudbuster and the Droop Snoot.

The Super Cloudbuster was a kind of improved hybrid of the modified Flyboy and Clooudbuster keeping it as simple as possible.

After building a few variations of the Cloudbuster and Airboy, we decided to make a scratch built original using much of the general arrangement and named it the Droop Snoot'. More info about Droop Snoot athttp://balsamodels.com/phpBB/viewtopic. ... 1&start=30 about two posts down,

Both fly well and are a lot of fun in the back yard.

Looking thru our Cloud Buster and Fly Boy pictures and found some of the Fly Boy that hadn't been posted before. A while back, we had some extra rib sets and were curious how a long winged Fly Boy wing would fly. The wing was extended to 40 inches and mounted to a stick fuselage. The model turned out to be a graceful and gentle flyer in our limited backyard flying space.
