Mr. Duckett,
Truly astonishing work! How exactly are you using the spackle? are you just putting it in between the stringers? the pics almost make it look like you have used balsa sheets in the spaces to make a solid fuselage. Could you detail a bit what you are doing exactly?
I need to get back to building my models, got into flying ARF foam electric rc planes and have a couple partially built guillows models just sitting on my desk...

Never asked before, but do you have a preferred brand/style of sandpaper?
Do you use a sanding board/block, or just loose sandpaper with your hand?
Grit you prefer is/are?
Just a few more questions that others would appreciate answers to help them get that one step closer to a better job.
Yes, it is not always the tool that does the good job, but it sure helps!

Re: Completed P-51 Mustang
I just noticed this thread. I'm trying to find a 1/16 4-blade HS prop for the 400-series Guillows p-51 that I'm building. Like you, I'm building it for static display. Where did you find the prop on your model, or, did you carve it? I'm a newbie builder and started to try to carve the blades. The balsa block I have has dents and small holes in it. The basswood is much tougher to rough out with a jeweler's saw but easier to shape as its sturdier than balsa.
I'm trying to use pictures taken from different angles of cuffed blades on real p-51's and relating them to the plans in the kit. Seems to me that that the blades on the plans are very thick, though I saw another diagram where the blades also seemed thick. Yet, the photos, admittedly from different angles. seem to show much thinner blades, albeit with the twist (warp?) clearly visible.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have. ... Thanks!

David, you do very, very, very nice work. Truly inspirational...almost got me looking forward to winter when I can find a little more free time to start my next project. Thanks for sharing!

Wow Masterpiece. Soon I will be attempting the F 14 Tomcat. I was wondering if you may possibly be going to post a "Build" on a 1400 Series kit in the near future?
