New Here! / Super Cub 95 #303
Hi guys,
My name is Jim Ambrose I am 22 and Live in Ft. Hood, TX flying Blackhawks for the Army, and I deploy to Afghanistan at the end of the month.
I have been in Models since I was 4 with estes rockets, then Control line, then R/c when I was 10, then helis (3D) when I was around 15, and then R/C jets when I was 20.
But my garage/ hobby section is full of GUILLOWS models. I can still fly all of the above---but it's something about the look of a Guillows kits. Even the Box makes me WANT it....
I have been doing a lot of looking around and this is an Awesome site! Mr. David Ducket is an Alien with his abilities and the rest of yall are still leaps and bounds ahead of me in skill.
I have 21 unbuilt Guillows kits....Let's just say the Hobby store owner told me that he heard Guillows was going out of business--- so about 5 seconds latter I was purchasing everything he had. and don't regret it (I know they are not going out of Business)
Well----My first Build is the Piper Super Cub 95 #303 I will get some pics up latter. (it is in the final assembly stage)
All of the big models that I have I want to be Control line---so I am looking to gleam some good knowledge from you guys and get my birds to look as good as yalls.
I just want to be part of the group. thanks.

I served at Fort Hood from 1979 to 1981 with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division.I always wanted to fly but I ended up a ground pounder.
Build some of those planes Jim. I am sure you will do a great job. I salute you for your service to this great nation of ours and wish you the best in your deployment.

well, thanks for the nice replys

I just need to decide if I have time to build one more or not....I would love to build these during deployment but how would I get it home not to mention all of the random trips I make to the hobby shop to buy more stuff that I might need...
not to mention all of the random trips I make to the hobby shop to buy more stuff that I might need...
I will still follow this forum while I am deployed regardless
