Go BIG, Go Laser, Or Go Home?
Im looking for some advise more my next build...
I have done a 500, 900, and a 400, all of which were die cut. I love the scale and added features in the giant size (1000)Corsair, but Im also eyeing a laser cut (400) BF-109.
Again, I would like either at this point, but I only want to pay for one now, even if it is the more expensive size.
Which way should I go my friends?
Thanks

1000 Corsair
Jace, I'm building a corsair. I have been empresed with the quality of the wood and the die cutting has been good (except for a few stringer cut outs). Be sure to study the plans closely, lots of info, because of the many features. Some of the instructions can be confusing. I have not yet figured out how to post photos of my build but David D. has lots of great photos . Good luck. Oldflyer2

If it gets confusing, study all aspects of the plans and instructions with the parts and eventually it will come together. The retractable gear was a little confusing for me at first but after careful study it came together nicely. The corsair was my first guillow's build and without doubt most enjoyable. Just remember to check out all views of the area in question and you should be able to answer your own, and make sure and read the instructions thoroughly. Have fun.

Bigger is better? not always ... given the choice between ease of assembly, high quality versus simply a larger model I will take the higher quality laser cut kit. Untill Guillows lasers the large kits they are not getting on my hobby table. I built enough of these things when I was a kid to know that no matter what the kits that were die cut always needed some sort of repair before assembly can begin.
Cheers, Jens

This was my first build and I can't remember how many stringers I replaced from breakage until I figured out how fragile they are and what a klutz I am. I'm doing the last large guillows for my collection now ( P-38) but the corsair still is one of my favorites because it opened up a whole new world f or me.
or me.
