Columbia Space Shuttle
I'm in the UK and I'm trying to get hold of plans for 1200 Series Space Shuttle Columbia. I've asked Susan at Customer Services and she suggested this forum.

These sell from time to time on eBay for about $20 USD, but shipping would probably kill it for you. I've got this kit and can try to scan the plans for you, but the best quality would come from a large format scan.
The kit uses a fair amount of plastics so you'd need to replace them with wood carvings or similar.

Columbia Space Shuttle
I visited Kennedy Space Center in Florida maybe 20yrs ago and went bonkers at their gift shop. Came home with "stuff" galore, along with a large poster showing cutaway view of Columbia. It eventually went with kids to a school show and tell day. I no longer have it. But, you might want to check NASA...they have huge site at www.NASA.gov You'll be able to spend days there if you like. While there, try and locate a great research paper entitled From Engineering Science to Big Science, the NACA and NASA Collier Trophy Research Project Winners. Most impressive, including old and newer photos.
Also, this past July 17th, many Sunday newspapers in US added a section in tribute to NASA. It coincided with the final space shuttle flight. They are retired and seems interest has now grown in general. Try the following:
www.Parade.com/space
Check search engines on your PC snapshot, simply say space shuttle, and many new sites can be explored nowadays. Hope something here helps, good luck and enjoy.

check this out: hope it helps. I have a feeling the Space Shuttle kits will go up in value with the end of the program.
