I like the ones where they sell only the empty box as if its a collectors item.
If your lucky you may get the one that has all the leftover scraps in it!

I use American Express, thru PayPal. If I ain't happy, all it takes is one phone call... Then, I'm happy again, and looking for another kit, that is...

Amazing, considering it wasn't exactly a 'collector's' kit - i.e., not pristine, possibly missing a piece or two...
Well, 'tis the season.

and another one...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GUILLOW-GIANT-1 ... 3cbf1e3960
there's a reserve on this one, so it'll be interesting... The most successful auctions for this plane are no reserve, start at $9.99...

this one is interesting:

A B-29 bomber named Enola Gay, an atomic bomb, the city of Hiroshima. History changed forever. The pilot of that B-29 was Paul Tibbets. His signature is on one of the cowlings of this kit. I bought the kit new in 1995, and sent the cowling and a book to General Tibbets for his signature. The supporting documentation is the green return signature card, and the package cover that was used to return the cowling and book to me. The kit is as from the factory, the box shows wear and tear from 16 years of storage. There are no combined shipping discounts.

That is interesting, but you'd have to build it with that cowling un-painted and hope the guy cut it out properly. I'll keep an eye on it just to see what sort of premium it fetches, if any.

Re: GUILLOWS "ENYOA GAY" FOR SALE
If you look at his "other auctions" he has about ten different guillow's kits with some sort of autograph and certificates of authenticity.
Our community here is more of a "build em" group, rather than "let em collect dust in the box" group.
Hummmm, what could be more interesting than a collection of unbuilt model planes with paperwork to go with em?
(this is me being less than nice... sorry...)

I could just about quit my day job to buy and sell these kits. Obvious now is the "sell" time period in this particular market.

Re: GUILLOWS "ENYOA GAY" FOR SALE
My personal feeling is that is what Ebay is for.
I think that in this case the guy only has one post, and so has made no contribution at all. Had it have been Bill, Dave, ADW etc ie one of the "regulars" I think it is acceptable.
I know that I've mentioned this before but I think that some structure to the forum would help, most have a section for clasified ads and they are accepted as long as they stick to what the forum is about. Therefore if like Grandpa and me you aren't that fussed you can avoid them.
I have contacted Mark on both structure and moderation only to be met with a wall of silence, so it won't happen anytime soon, this forum is poor in many respects, but the people that contribute to it are all great, so my vote is no contribution = no selling. How you would regulate that without a moderator is another matter!
Andrew
EDIT oops, I clicked on the first page rather than the last in this thread
I suppose I'm only a few months late, applogies all!
