Now to get to the fun part...
After all of the pieces were covered, including those struts, those are a real pain to cover. I also covered a couple of 1/16" square sticks with red and black before installing them on the airplane, that turned out to be a good idea. The nose has three pieces of balsa laminated together so that it can withstand more nose in landings. I made a balsa plug for the nose to move the thrust button further foward so that the prop clears the cowl. I also made a balsa plug for the back of the cowl to help it hold its shape while it was installed. I checked the ballance and only a small mount of clay was needed for ballance, it was placed in to the cowl before it was installed. After all of that it came in at 35.7 grams.

I used Future floor polish, thinned 50% with water for sealing the tissue. It seemed to work pretty well with 2 coats, probably should have done three and sealed it better. The decals caused the tissue to wrinkle slightly, but they seemed to stick pretty well.

Completed!!!

I have not had a chance to fly it yet as there is still a foot of snow on the ground, so she waits for the spring thaw to stretch her wings. I am sure that the landing gear struts will not stay attached for long, but at least she will look good for a while. As soon as I can get this little Cub trimmed and flying I'll post how she flew. Any suggestions for a motor? I don't want to use what came with it and am open to suggestions.

Looks wonderful, like a plane made of lemon and cherry candy. Good job!

Nice looking aeroplane you got there. Are there any suggestions for a rubber motor size on the plans?
Sometimes on the Guillow plans it will have something in the corner of the plans that reads:
For longer flights use XXxXX size rubber.
