What to do with all those models...

Post by Mitch »

Someone asked me once... what do you do with all those models?

Well the garage is not a good place as it is cold and damp... The models out there are getting saggy... I am cleaning up while I am home and placed my WW2 birds above my train case in my Computer/Game room...

Okay...everyone get close for the picture....

Models are from L to R...
Spitfire (Flew), Me109F (Flew), Me109E (Flew), FW190 (Glide), Ta-152 (not flown yet), Zero (Engine Expolsion), P-51 (Flies well), P-40 (not flown yet)

Doing a fly by is a Dumas Storck 30" ws, so that is approx. the same scale. (not flown yet)

I will fly the Ta-152 next spring... It was kitbashed from a die-cut FW190 Kit... It has the correct ws at 36 inches! In Guillows 1000 series someday?

:D Happy Holidays :D ...got to keep cleaning, going back to my ship on soon... and the Fokker Factory... I will be home for a late Christmas... Mitch

Looking good, Mitch. I keep mine hung from the ceiling in the garage, which is heated and has A/C. Never tried to fly any of them.... probably too heavy anyway. Are you USN or MM ??

Following seas, Mate !

Thanks...going back to my ship tomorrow, MV Horizon Kodiak (previously Sea-Land Service)... I am in the Merchant Marine. Put 4 coffee hooks in the wall and secured the models with some string... Getting the house cleaned up for a Christmas Party and want to have the game room available... FoosBall and AirHockey.

I think I can sqeeze in another 4 or 6 models (w/o landing gear)... Future projects include... SeaFire, Bf109G, FW 190 variation, P-51 razorback...

Here's the Midshipman and I getting a position... the old fashioned way...using sextants and doing the MATH! I used to do this for real (I am pre GPS / SatNav)... I am doing it for fun and helping the cadet as he needs to learn the basics... NOT just push the SAVE button on the GPS! :D Mitch
