HELLO ALL: I AM BUILDING THE 16" SPAN T-28 Trojan and I have a couple of questions.
1. Does W-8, the wing root extension, go on before covering the wing, or after the wing is covered?
2. Does W-1, the first wing rib, W-1, which has a slight curve, get the dihedral angle set before the wing is covered and mounted; or, is it installed vertically and have the dihedral set when it is installed against the fuselage? The first method would be a cleaner but harder method to set the dihedral. The second method will be easier but a slight gap will be left at the bottom of rib W-1 and the fuselage.
3. What is the balance point location for flight ?
Thank you
Dave

Re: T-28 TROJAN BUILD
Hi Upland,
1. I would cover the wing and then add W-8. Then add a small section of tissue over W-8 just to make it look like the rest of the wing.
2. W-1 is set with the dihedral when the wing is built. W-6 holds the rib at the correct angle during construction. The wing is then covered and installed.
3. The balance point is about in line with the top, forward stringer on the wing. Maybe slightly forward of that stringer.
