Most builders, from what I've read in the forums, apparently consider cutting out the balsa parts an unpleasant chore, whereas to me it's a pleasurable and satisfying part of the building process. I have complete control and can make changes on the spur of the moment. I never build a design the same way twice. There are always improvements and customized adjustments. Secondly, the skill acquired and pride of accomplishment in the finished product is a bit greater.

Figuring the time it takes to earn the money to buy, maintain and operate, plus the learning curve, I don't think you save much time unless you are in business manufacturing many identical kits. A hobby is not a way to save time anyway. It's a way to spend time.

I totally agree with what you say David,
I also cut my own parts, nothing more satisfying than creating a build with your own hand and eye

But it would be nice to own one of these machines
