I'd love to see the rubber band your gonna use in this thing!

One question, if you like to build big planes, have you heard of Nick Ziroli plans?

Sure! Those are very fine plans indeed... But I can build one of these for about 30 bucks (US)...

One of his big ones would be much, much more than that... I'm a thrifty little fellow... And this thing wouldn't fly with a rocket motor strapped onto it...

Bill, great work!

I have to wonder though; do you have an enormous storage area for all your big models? This one is kinda massive!

What kind of wood are you using?

cheers Steve

1/4" pine plywood, and milled pine 2 by 4's...

We'll be mounting these on poles, (4 by 4 fence posts, 10' long concreted holes...) out in the back 40... There'll be 10 of em in the first round... But, there's been a discussion of building one (at least) at full size... We'll see...

First, we decided to "infill" with 1/4 ply, decided it would wind up to heavy to perch up on the post with our Texas wind. It never quits... Then aluminium cans were explored, but that's just too big a chore with ten planes to do... So we're going to do fabric like my other big planes. Average of 6 coats of latex, and they'll stand up to the elements just fine...
