Mitch's Toolbox - Bending Balsa

Post by Mitch »

Hey Guys,

Here is a good way to soak your balsa...
Image
2 foot piece of 1/2 inch pvc and 2 endcaps... Price 1.72
The second endcap is to hold the balsa in the tube filled with water. Set in corner for 24 hours and should be reading for bending.

...and here is another use for 1/2 pvc for those with children:

a mini marshmallow gun.

Very cool. Much less chance for property damage or personal injury than with a PVC spud cannon :) .

Mitch, did you have to use PVC cement on the bottom end cap of your stick soaker? I picture this thing leaning upright in a corner and thought it might be necessary.

Good point... I just bought the pieces today, it was from the article in the FAC News. I will test at home and if it leaks I will glue one...(only 1) end cap! :D
