Okay here is a link to Hip Pockets P-30 rules:

The Arrow will qualify for P-30. I have not been to an AMA event, and not seen a P-30 fly in competition. Just because the Arrow qualifies does not mean it will be competitive. I have an Arrow, but plan to make some changes to the front end. Kitty Fritters is doing a thread on that now and I would follow what he is doing.

Re: Guillows flying club in west Michigan?
I would love to enter an Arrow in P-30 after I do some performance mods to it...part of my mission is to go see how tough the competition is in P-30...then I could decide if my mods are "good enough" the Arrow is certain to have better looking lines than more modern models!
Update: that's a great link to P-30 rules, there was a lot I did not know, particularly about the prop. I will be bringing a brand X (other than Guillows) P-30 to the competition, it is building fast and well...not a great plan I know to build last min but I just could not see watching free flight for two days without a model to fly. If it survives trim on Sat I will enter it on Sunday...even if I come in dead last it will give me a reality check on how my current build/trim skills are progressing

Re: Guillows flying club in west Michigan?
I watched P-30 fly at AMA contest this weekend, our Arrows will need to be able to post 2 min flights on a somewhat frequent percentage of flights. All the P-30 models need thermal assist to do this so if the thermals are week even the fancy models will not make 2 min. The key is consistent performance in all types of flying conditions, It sure helps if you can spot thermals to
