1903 Flyer

Post by Coloradoken »

This kit was definitely for the experienced modeler. Delicate care and a light touch was required. I even had to craft several structural parts from thicker balsa. Several other changes made include 1) modified paint scheme to have all exposed balsa "spruce" and all tissue painted "linen". 2) Pilot was crafted 3D out of 2x2x6 balsa. The kit included a 2D cutout that was, well, inadequate. Let me know if you think were an improvement. See attached pix.

You did a GREAT job. I LOVE the 3D pilot you carved. VERY NICE job indeed.

Nice. I Love the pilot. Never understood why they make such a detailed replice, and sit a flat 2D pilot in it?

Thanks. Carving the pilot was one of the easier tasks with this model. Don't understand why it isn't standard.
