Well done, Bill. Especially like the Hellcat, one of my faves. These should serve as inspiration for your future Humongous Scale efforts :D .

Heard that you been sorta laid up lately. Take care of the ol ticker so you can get back to the garage and start crankin' out more biguns again.

IF they were balanced, and trimmed, yes. But they've already been given to one of the youngsters here in the neighborhood...

Big Hellcat... hummm.... you mean like this?:

I would be neat if it would work... The plane would pull too hard to hold onto tho. It'll be interesting to weigh them when they're finished.

We plan planting posts in the ground, and mounting all three on top. Hopefully, they'll spin freely on top of the post, changing direction with the wind. We'll see...

All Three are now covered, and next we'll shoot lacquer on em, then primer, then color.

Balsa is WAYYY more expensive than 1/4 inch pine plywood... 4 by 8 foot sheet is less than 20 bucks per... I paid 17 bucks a sheet for this stuff. Takes about a sheet and a quarter to make one plane, including the stringers... So technically, I can build one of these cheaper than a kit. But that presumes the plan is printed for free, and the paint is cheap... So maybe not really...

I think we need to build a really big JET...

Your 3 models look great. I like the paint jobs. Very nice. Are they painted, or sprayed?

Bill, I am intrigued by your "super sized" guillows projects. I hope you keep posting on those as well if it is allowed. What did you cover them with being they will be exposed to the elements?
