Re: Guillows Petition: PLEASE BRING BACK THE B-29
I say yes bring the B-29 back, yes it dropped the bomb, but that saved more lives then it took. The estimates of just the U.S. dead on the first day of an invasion of the home islands of Japan was one million, that's one million dead Americans on the beaches of Japan. Let the people who say it should not have been done think about that for awhile. But don't think too long my fellow baby-boomers you may not exist...

Re: Guillows Petition: PLEASE BRING BACK THE B-29
My grandfather was on a troop transport ship headed toward Japan when they surrendered. That was still a good year or more before my mom was born, if you catch my meaning. I too am a firm believe that the correct action was taken, but did they have to use such an ugly plane?
