4500 series

Has anyone tried a 4500 series for flying? Thinking about one with tissue covering and better rubber.

Yes i really like the newer 4500 series. I built and flew them before they where 4500 series kits. I believe they used to be DC series. Anyway I learned a lot from my experiences with these great kits. As i got better with them i started adding a motor tube to them. I have been busy with 900 series kits and have not had time for the 4500. I want to go to my first FAC meeting this summer in Geneseo NY. Thanks.I bought the Hellcat.I'm using navy blue tissue and blue magic marker for the fuselage.I'll try 1/2"rubber from a/c supply.

Flying Models by Don Ross.... Rubber is usually supplied in standard widths of 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 3/16" and 1/4" .

I think that 1/16" thread or 1/8 is more common. I think a 1/2" is for Jumbo's.
