Looking forward to seeing the build. It's a good one. Built one here last year.

Re: My Next Build - Curtiss Robin
LOL I just got done reading your build, Bill.
All I can do is hope my feeble attempt comes out that nice! It should arrive in the mail Friday, can't wait.

Re: My Next Build - Curtiss Robin
Thanks. the kit actually goes together fairly easily. The exhaust manifolds were probably more work than anything else, since they're not included and there's two of them. I talked myself into building them after finishing the build, since I needed a tad more nose weight anyway.

Bill,
What motor did you end up using? I read your build twice and don't see a motor identified...
Thanks,
Ted

Re: My Next Build - Curtiss Robin
I believe it was an 8gm AEO outrunner used in the Robin, on 2s lipo. Hobbypartz no longer stocks them however. I would probably use the 10gmn HXT motor sold by Hobbyking and other places, such as Heads Up RC.

Thanks Bill.
I just ordered the below for the Curtiss:
HURC 180 10g 2000KV Motor
HURC 7A ESC
Power Up Receiver... Thought I would try one of these and if they work out, refit all my planes with them.
All from HEADS UP RC. Thanks for that link. WOW GREAT PRICES!

Looks good. I see you made the exhaust manifolds also. I imagine you used balsa? Those little things were a job to fabricate. I talked myself into making them, since the model needed a hair of noseweight.

LOL I made 5 to get 2 Bill.
I have yet to CG it but it feels like nose weight will be in order for sure. I will take your suggestion of 25-26 mm or so to start.
Thanks Bill.
