Wing gun question

What does everybody use if you add wing guns to your plane? Scabs from other models? I took some round styrene stock i had and drilled out the center,used a hot pointed nail to make the vent holes for my Stuka. I still need to come up with something for the in cockpit gun other than a piece of round stock.

I use plastic or aluminum tubing. For flying models I drill a small hole and glue flexible stranded cable such as Sullivan Gold Cable into the leading edge, and then glue the guns over the cable. This allows for flexibility, which helps with longer gun barrels so that they don't damage the wing leading edge if they come in contact with something. Using nylon pushrod tubing also works for making flexible guns.

Wow that is a great idea! Going to write that one down for board at hobby shop.

Depending on what I'm building, I have a collection of black coffe stir tubes of various size. There are two sizes where one slides into the larger bore and really looks like a .50 when paineted flat black. Looked great on a Guillows P40.
