Where to buy kits
I don't know how many of you have tried to get Guillow kits on e-bay but I found it so frustrating that I usually get them thru Amazon because you can get free shipping and shipping usually sends the e-bay price over the top. I guess if I worked at it I might find a deal there. I went to HobbyTown today to browse and pick up some parts and I found a Messerschmitt BF-109 kit 401 lasercut for $28.00 and just had to get it. It was red tagged with the sale price but it was on the shelf with all the other Guillow models at normal price. Would never have found it if I hadn't pulled it out to look at it. I had my phone so I googled the kit and best price I saw was about 40.00 so I'm pretty pleased. Anyway I guess it pays to check.........

I've bought 600 and 900 kits at Hobby Lobby really cheap with their 40% off one item online coupon.

Re: Where to buy kits
If I do not get one from my LHS, online I go to ACSupply Co. The 400 series is about 35.00 and if you buy 100.00, shipping is free. After I have the plans I can get spare parts from Guillows (Canopy, Plastic and Fuselage parts) and can build a 400 series model for about 20 dollars. When I have used the plans a few times, then it is time to buy the kit again.

Wal Mart sells Guillow's kits on their web site. I posted my review of the Aeronca Champ kit #301 on the Wal Mart product page.

I have had good luck with Amazon especially if you are Prime member. Have ordered through Wal Mart with sucess. But for extra savings I hit up the online Hobby sites for the discontinued or clearance page.

I just bought a couple of kits from AC Supply. Super fast shipping and great prices. I highly recommend them. http://www.acsupplyco.com/aerospace/gui ... wsmain.htm

Hobby Lobby has the 900 series Mustang on clearance, it appears that this is the last of their kits, they clearanced out the rest about a year ago.Billy Mc wrote:I've bought 600 and 900 kits at Hobby Lobby really cheap with their 40% off one item online coupon.
I would Second AC Supply, and don't forget your local Craigslist, or Estate sales, you never know what you might find.
