thank you, woundedbear..for a while there I didn't think it was going to make it. There were some unusual hurdles.
a couple of last minute building notes: I replaced the balsa wing struts with basswood strips for added strength..the balsa sticks provided just seemed a little too 'snap-able'
I added small washers to the main wheel inner sides to replicate the look of the wheel brake assy. I think I'll add brake lines too at some point. The hubs are just small clear plastic light lenses - parts left over from a previous plastic
kit of some kind - I painted them white to match the base color..I never throw old sprues away if they have parts on them.
The fuel caps were made just as they were for the Cherokee...card stock from a hole punch with a small piece of styrene strip stock for the handle.

I have been thinking about the next build project - maybe another high wing floater...

One more build note: here is the template I used to fit the windscreen.
As you can see I deviated from the plan and made a one piece windscreen , then cut each additional side window individually
Slightly oversized to the window openings, then surface glued them in place with white glue.
The windscreen method was slightly different in that I used painted masking tape cut in strips to assist in securing that part to the fuselage...along with a water and white glue solution brush painted along the tape edges and to the windscreen itself where it contacts the fuselage directly.

Thanks, Chris - I hope we'll be seeing your progress on the Nieuport 28 before too long.
