Re-shrinking tissue.
Is it okay to re-spray a tissue covering with water? I had a taught frame after my initial spray but the tissue seems to have loosened a bit after a week or so in limbo. Don't want to do any damage to my first model. Any advice appreciated.

Have you doped the tissue?

Then dope it. 2 coats, 50/50 thinned...

I would just dope it then and let the dope shrink the tissue. Doped covering will also be less susceptible to becoming loose again.
But respraying with water will probably also work.

I learned to be careful about respraying with water. If you get the wood too wet, the drying convering can induce warps into the wood in large pieces like stabilizers. Parker is on to the right method with thinned dope. I use Krylon as a mist. It drys fast and you can respray to get out the final wrinkles.

Is 50/50 dope sprayable with a spray bottle? Or brush recommended?BillParker wrote:Then dope it. 2 coats, 50/50 thinned...

You need to, or should seal the wood and tissue. I use Krylon clear, or Dope thinned. I have still had loosening, or wrinkling experiences due to humidity, and temperature changes.
