Tissue Source
I recently found a new source for tissue. Walgreens even has Silver and Gold tissue. I cant imagine using gold unless your making Elvis' plane. They have many other colors too. I plan to try the silver on my next project, probably the Fairchild 701.

It's Halmark tissue. They even have some patterns that would go well on a DR1, polka dots and or zigzag stripes. Any one ever tried Halmark tissue? I'm going to try the silver on the Rufe float plane.

Japanese Esaki tissue is lighter (about 12 g/m^2) if weight is important to you. Of course it is much more expensive, too.

I tried the silver on a Rufe, It worked well. The silver is a little opaque if your looking for the translucent look. It's not too expensive, $2.00 for 5 sheets about 29x20 inches. I only used 2 sheets on the Rufe.

Oh, there is occasionally a use for gold tissue. This Beaver has no paint on it and some of the trim is gold and silver tissue from Michael's.
The white tissue is Guillow's kit tissue applied wet The black lines are black Esaki and all the rest is wrapping tissue. Yes, I know the exhaust stack is on the wrong side.
