1004 Corsair
Hi fellow Guillow’s kit builders! I have been lurking on this site for fifteen years and enjoying seeing all the different ways people approach building these models. I build flyers too but my latest model is a static scale one and is my fanciest yet. I framed up this Corsair when I first found this site in 2005 - so I thought I should finish it when I began self-isolating. I just finished priming it.

Re: 1004 Corsair
I used Elmer’s glue and a hair dryer for construction and to attach and seal the tissue. I copied the ribs to double their number and added more stringers to make the fuselage and wing top smoother. I’m happy with the result, although it is riddled with small flaws and mistakes.

Looks real nice. I'm anxious to see the final product. What type of paint scheme are you going to use?

Looking good! I can't wait to see the final product, if this work is any indication, I'm sure it'll be excellent. And welcome to the forum, BTW!

Re: 1004 Corsair
I have a spray can of gloss ocean blue for top and bottom and I plan to put as many decals on it as possible. It is sort of a replica of a local Corsair that was called “Alberta Blue” when it was owned by Blaine Fowler back in the 1990s. A newer owner repainted it and damaged it in a takeoff accident a few years ago. It was a “Baa Baa Black Sheep” TV series plane.

I forgot to mention that the fuselage got a bit crunched when a picture fell on it a few years ago.
