403 Spitfire Build
My building board was empty now that the Hellcat is in the paint shop.I built a propellor already to take how-to photos, so the Spitfire plan found its way onto the empty space. With the pieces already cut out, I couldn’t help but build it as a Christmas holiday isolation project. I have started covering it, beginning at the back, as usual.

Re: 403 Spitfire Build
I doubled the stringers and made separate control surfaces and trim tabs. I glued 1/16 stringers to the bottom of the wing ribs and sanded them to add some shape to the flat bottom airfoil. Landing gear recesses have been cut into the wing- a bit too far back on the wing. Oops, the radiator scoop is going to be a tight fit. I paid special attention to the cowling area and sheeted most of it to aid shaping.

Re: 403 Spitfire Build
Thanks Mark! It will probably be standard Battle of Britain camouflage with the giant lettering and big roundels; similar to this smaller version in the picture, but bigger lettering.

Sprayed white primer onto the Spitfire, and re-did the wing fillets.

Re: 403 Spitfire Build
Can anyone lead me to a good plan on how to build a Cockpit for this aircraft. I am just wanting to make a display version and so not know how to make a good looking cockpit.
Thanks,
Mike
