Giant scale Ju87-G2 Stuka

Post by Oldyzracer1 »

I started with the propeller again. Having a nice prop motivates me to build the fuselage. I used a drill to shape a balsa spinner with an extended aluminum tubing center bushing. The blades are cut from a plastic cup with scissors.

I built a similar propeller for my old Ju87. The old one, built over the plan, had blades that were about half an inch too short. I always thought it looked a bit small on that huge plane.

Now it seems to look more like it’s 1/72 sibling here.

Good morning! any progress on the stuka?? It has finally warmed up here . we might have 30s this week. Gotta feel bad for people in the southern states with the frigid temps they had. I was always asked how we live up here by people down south. i just laughed most of the time as we are used to it. Nothing they could do down there to prepare for the temps. MARK

I stuck a “discard” attempt canopy on top. I’m still working on a usable canopy, but the cannons are ready!

I got a few more details glued on to the Stuka. Right now I’m stalled at the canopy, but that is coming along - I’m waiting for better (more expensive) plastic for thermoforming.

The latest picture. Still working on the canopy. I sharpied the spinner spiral to rough it out for painting later.
