The forward cockpit cover is just set onto the model for the photo - it won’t be attached permanently until after the infill is done

Hello all - Finally back in the forum after my old email was dropped by our ISP.
I couldn't log in forever but now it's solved.

I've got a 1/16 scale AMT Ford Thunderbird on the table - the littlest boy wanted Poppop to make him a Green car - so that's what I'm doing.

only the interior and the motor have been finished and painted - the body is next - then assembly. She'll have the same lighting as the 55 Chevy

The Thunderbird looks great.You have a very steady hand to
be able to paint all the very small details.

The radial engine on your DC-3 looks very realistic.

Hi Scott - yes I was very happy to discover 3D printed radials in 1/32 scale - and they fit perfectly into the DC-3 cowlings provided with the Guillow's kit.
I plan to build another one as a C-47 from D-Day at some point and will absolutely use Resin2Detail engines on that project

The look I was going for here with the DC-3 project was a recreation of those large scale promotional airliner models that used to be found at airport ticket counters and at travel agencies
back in the 60's, and 70's until they ultimately disappeared. Back then you would see Delta, United, American, Western, Eastern, and TWA DC-4's, DC-6's Lockheed Constellations, all about 1/16 scale or larger, dangling above the ticket counters
(before the digital age) and I remember wishing they might just give one away some day to the kid who couldn't peel his eyes off of them.
So here i thought I'd just build one of my own these decades later, using the Guillow DC-3 as the foundation. A big, glossy Western Airlines promotional model - like those I used to admire back when
