Grumman Avenger Build

Post by Geoffrito »

Hey everyone, just some photos of my newly completed Avenger. I'll admit, it's not great, but I'm still pretty happy with it. It also flies pretty well, although less so with a broken prop...
Ah well.

Glad you've got a nice flier. I noticed in one photo, I see you are using the kit rubber (blue). Look at kittyfritters suggestions for a flier, his advice to CDWheatley. I think two loops of 1/8" rubber might give some long flights.

yeah, I was for a bit. I have to say, you're all right about it being rubbish. The plane flew fine (by my standards) with it, but it broke after one day of gentle flying...and I hadn't even strech-wound it more than once or twice!!

I found some Peck Polymers rubber lying about, so I tried substituting two loops of that, and it works great =D

Have you heard of Virtualaerodrome? You can go there to post your photos.

By the way, I bought the Avenger model just recently. It's on my 'to build' list. Yours gives me some inspiration to start on it soon.

What sort of flight times have you been getting with this?

No idea. I'd be flying it, but the prop broke :(
