I guess the closest Guillow's ever got to Soviet was the P-39 which they no longer make now. Your best shot might be Easy Built, but a better source of leads might be obtained by asking over on the SFA Forum.

I don't know about kits, but try the Comet Model Builders group at Yahoo,

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cometmodelairplanes/

They have a downloadable copy of the plans for the IL-2 with about a 20 inch wingspan. Haven't built it yet but it looks like it will be a good flier.

No kits, but if you know how to make plans build ready...

You're gonna love this:

You don't have to be able to read Russian, just start looking around, and you'll figure it all out in a jiffy...

Hi,

If it's just about having a plane with red stars on it then you could make a lend-lease model too.

Guillow's produced a line of terrible profile FF rubber kits featuring a Stormavik (their spelling). These occasionally come up on ebay. What you need is a Dave Diels kit, which will look great and really fly.

MiG-3 & Polikarpov I-16 rubber scale models

Post by carlo961 »

You can find detailed scale plans here:

MiG-3 by Earl Stahl, from Model Airplane News (January 1943):

http://www.theplanpage.com/esp/mig.htm

Polikarpov I-16 by H.A. Thomas, Air Trails (May 1942):

http://www.theplanpage.com/Months/2304/mosca.htm

Hope this helps,
