It has been a long time since my last model. I recently began assembling the Morse Scout SC4 and have some problems.
The side Keel "A" doesn't fit down into the slots in fuselage formers "B2, B3, B4 & B5". Should they fit or do I cut the Keel "A" to fit down into the slots so they are flush with the top of slots in formers "B" ?
I would surely appreciate any insight and advice.

Hi Jim,
I've never built the Scout but, most of the that series are built the same.
You should not have to cut or notch the keels. My guess is that the notches in the B formers are not deep enough. On the other side of the plans there should be the pattern for each former. See if your pieces match the drawing.

Any chance of a pic? It is not uncomman to need to custom fit a long piece into several smaller pieces. On a side keel, I sometimes replace the wide part with a square stick. Saves alot of weight, but can be a hassle to get the fuse straight. What I do is glue the formers onto the keel. Then remove from the board, and add the oppisite formers. Then, starting at the tail, use a stringer instead of the provided side keel and attach both sides at the same time. Glue the rear, then the nose. Rubber bands around the ends help alot with holding the stringer in place and give you a chance to alighn the fuse straight, before glue. When you are happy with it bieng straight, glue the rest of the formers. Then do stringers two at a time, one oppsite the other, careful to maintain equall stress on both sides.
There are many ways to do something. This works for me.

Thanks for all your helpful advice. I't's been about 50 years since I put one of of these models together. I had the Keel on backwards. After a few broken pieces I'm back on track. Is there something to loosen the glued joint?
