space, the final frontier...

Post by BillParker »

When I first started building these big planes, space was an issue, as I knew that I wanted to build em all, and I had no idea where I'd put em.

Problem solved itself, as neighbors came around asking for specific planes to hang in their own garages. The two above are across the street hanging side by side... heck, that guy has 4 planes total...

I probably won't even get to hang up the spitfire, as the guy who lives behind me wants it in his garage. he visits his plane daily...

Has anyone built a 'model' airplane the size of a real airplane?

What kind of wood do you buy for the airplane?

Plywood for this one, but also a bundle of 1/4" Fan fold sheets for the 2nd one.

I'm curious what you do with these very large planes once they are built. They must take a great deal of space to store.

Hoyo de Montery

Post by BillParker »

Not on 55.htm, as I quit smoking on Sept. 1st, but it was probably a Hoyo de Montery, either Sultan Oscuro, or a Rothchild Oscuro, (double maduro)... my absolute favorite two cigars.... But alas... No more smoking for Billy P...

(17 years on the wagon as well!)

Question:

Why did you make the large cut outs on the stab and rudder?
