Anyone done this? Spitfire 403 is tail heavy so instead of clay I filled the nose cone with Epoxy and hollowed it out until it balanced the aircraft. Makes it strong and gives a good base to angle the prop. Seems like a good idea but maybe I am missing something.
While keeping an aircraft as light as possible is a good idea, it is not always possible. Even on real aircraft, we used to use 25lb lead filled "sandbags" to balance the cargo in helicopters.
A bumblebee isn't supposed to fly but does.
My plane is supposed to fly but doesn't.
Balances out doesn't it : )
