A6M2-N Rufe Floatplane

Post by ADW 123 »

heres my A3M2-N Rufe Float Plane that i started a few nights ago. im building it for show, and it will be airbrushed with color. i remade the spinner out of balsa, and i am using the scale prop. it looks pretty good in gloss black. the prop assembally has been glued to the nose cone.

Looking good so far. Taking a break from the Super Cub? It's always tough for me to avoid the temptation to have more than one build going at a time.

Glad you are going for the banana oil. I use nothing else. It is really thin, but you still thin it 50/50 before use....

what do i think it with? also, those litttle akward wrinkles on the wing pretty much went away. it looks great. post pics later. anyways, im gonna airbrush this one with createx colors. using red, black, white, and blue, ill mix a few colors to get the shade that i want, and hopefully make the thing look pretty good. i think that the prop detail is pretty cool as well.

another coat of blue paint will be added to the bottom of the wing and stab to make the blue strong, or i will make the blue less on the bottom of the fuse. anyway, i used dope to seal, and its lookin pretty good so far.

howdy folks,
im realy new hear so i figure ill introduce myself.
I also am working on the a6m2n rufe, mine is green and black, i plan on making it a micro flyer. to keep water problems at a minimum i used ultra coat for the main float. The paint is not quite finished it still needs some touchn up, i used a spray can. top is green the bottom a light blue.
once i get my micro chip for my camera/cell phone ill send u some picx.
i have difficulty with the canopy painting, so far i just use a perminant marker do u have any ideas, im horrible with brushes.

as for the canopy painting, since i airbrushed this, i like to use water based paint. its great for brushing detail. if you mess up and there is a smudge, just take a towel and wipe it off. just takes a couple of coats. looks great though
