Thanks Bill I like your pots, anything is good to keep everything organised.
I am a little bemused at putting the stringers on top of the tail surfaces, how ill you cover?
I sand the stringers to a taper at the leading and trailing edges and cover just like normal. On the Texas Gulf Coast we have Viet Nam style humidity. I have planes with "cork screwed" tail surfaces. This has worked to keep em flat.

good job, and just in time as I am just a little behind you in my build. Your build does clearify things.

Phugoid I hope you get a book published. Maybe guillows will buy the rights from you and sell it as a magazine. Even better if they include it in the kits but...

when i built the wright flyer, i always enjoyed the fact that there was a picture tutorial on the plans for me to help me follow along. It made things a whole lot easier, but i would imaging it would really help a newbie builder.

Oh, I wish this thread has begun a year ago!

There were a lot of "murky" areas in the 601 plans. I figured some out on my own, others by asking here. The modifications Phugoid shows seem to be par for the course.

I am surprised about this too. For something that is supposed to be a junior 100% success build by numbers kit there are a lot of things that are just not that clear.

The Warbirds I have built have been more straight forward in construction than this thing.

I have a question that has to do with this thread indirectly. After some posts, I get (in red)
you do not have the required permission to view the files attached to this post.
Why?
