Surgical Scalpel Blades
I have noticed that several are using surgical scalpels as hobby knifes. I have a handle but, no blades. Anyone have suggestions on where I purchase replacement blades???? Thanx, John G.

Scalpals
Ebay may be a better deal, bu I know they can be purchased for Micro-Mark.com. They carry a lot of hobby tools but they are not cheap.

Not that I'm aware of Steve, I shouldn't think so anyway. When I started back in the hobby again almost two years ago, I chose a scalpel purely because replacement blades were cheaper and easier to come by. I already had an X-acto handle that I intended to use, from my previous modelling days many moons ago, but I had trouble locating the blades for it. I now use it, with a VERY blunt blade, to score the fold lines on my card models.

I haven't gotten around to trying them, but Dave Platt whho is a noted builder of giant scale airplpanes promotes their use. He says ( tongue in cheek) Exacto blades are dulled on purpose.
