Models for sale very cheap.
Hello there,
I have a collection of balsa wood models that were my father's. He has now passed and I would like to sell his collection to someone who could get the enjoyment out of them as he did. The one's I'm selling are the one's he did not get to build. I am only asking for $30 for each one. The money goes to my mother to help her pay bills. Any questions please feel free to email me. If you are in the Houston area and would like to see them please let me know so I can set up a viewing for you.
Here is a partial list of what I have:

Assuming the kits are complete, some are worth more than $30 and some are worth much less. Without the kit numbers it is a little challenging, but I will try to give you an idea what I think.
Worth more than $30:
Catalina PBY-5a
Lockheed P-38 Lightning
Douglass SBD-3 Dauntless
Vought F4U-4 Corsair
Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat
DeHavilland MK IV Mosquito (discontinued and desired by many)
Worth about $30:
Sopwith 1E1 Camel
Fokker DR-1 Triplane (more like $20 if not laser cut)
Worth less than $30:
Cessna 170
WWII Mitsubishi Zero
Messerschimit BF 109
Beechcraft Musketeer
A6M2 Rufe
NASA space Shuttle Columbia (discontinued but demand is very low)
I would be willing to buy any of the kits I have listed as worth more than $30 ( except the P-38 ) and will email you to see what else you have for sale. However, ebay would give you a better dollar for your kits.

Mike, please accept my condolences on your fathers passing away.
I have sent you an email regarding the kits I am looking for.
And yes I am really interested in the Mosquito, as everyone else seems to be.
I eagerly await your response.
Steve, if you do purchase the Mosquito (you did get in first), would you consider scanning and selling the plans?

This is why I would like to know the Mosquito's scale.Angus wrote:

I also build plastic injection kits. Airfix is releasing a brandnew plastic mold in 24 th scale .
So if the Guillows Mosquito is also near 24 th scale it would be better for me to buy the Airfix kit as I would build it as a static model.

Erwin, I have an old Guillow catalogue at home I will check for you tonight. I also build for static display.
A new 1:24 Mosquito, mmm now that sounds enticing. Thanks for the info.
I am also a plastic kit junkie
Sorry this isn't Guillow's stuff and I apologise if I step on any toes. Erwin, you might be interested in http://gregers.7.forumer.com/, this is the Unofficial Airfix Forum.

Thank you all for the responses I have recieved on this posting. I will get back to everyone on Monday. I work in retail and I have a hectic weekend, so please bear with me. But I am really happy to see the number of people that would like to give the models a good home. I look forward to corresponding with you all.

I negotiated a deal with Mike and purchased all the kits in a lot. The Mosquito is back in Texas, this time in the hands of a very skilled modeler who's generosity found its way into my hands and I wanted to return some to him.Arlo DiPasquale wrote:if you still have it, i may be interested in the mesquito.
