On-Line Hobby Shop Needed

I live in the S.F. Bay Area and to go to a real hobby shop I need to drive 25 miles for very limited inventory. I am looking for a on-line shop that has good inventory, quality, selection and pricing. I am sure everyone has a preference but would be interested in hearing what people have experienced.

All of this because I needed some balsa for my P51 wingtips.

Tower Hobby is a good choice........I'm sure others also have good recommendations.

Just go to one of your search engines and submit balsa wood. There are plenty out there. You will be pleasantly surprised.

You can try local craft stores. AC Moore and Michaels carry balsa and bass wood.

Try here for really good prices on Guillows kits. Click on the aerospace icon and then Guillows.
They have other supplies, too.

AC Supply has great prices, but they've really been creeping up lately. It's amazing how much the higher-end kits have gone up in the last year or two. Must be that balsa shortage.

By the way, when I lived in the Bay Area, I liked Franciscan Hobbies on Ocean Ave in the city, Talbot's Toyland in San Mateo and J&M Hobby House in San Carlos. As lately as a couple of years ago, they all carried Guillow's kits and a good stock of supplies. J&M sells both Sig and Brodak nitrate dope at decent prices. Good luck!

My favorite online provider... While they are focused on ship models, they have a huge array of tools and other stuff. They also sell Guillow kits.
Been dealing with them for years without any problems.

I can drive ten miles to the Hobby Shop, or twelve to the craft store. Basde on the cost of gas, I always make out better by paying for the shipping rather than drive.
