Papering seams

Post by LandSpeed »

after I glue on the first piece and trim the excess, do I overlap the edge of the first piece and trim the other end and continue like this all the way around. I've seen some pictures here of the papering in progress and can't see any seams at all.
Thanks for your help

Shayne, Search for my Cessna 150 build, you can see how I do my overlaps.

I tend to cut pieces that are bigger and trim both sides, this does take a steady hand, a very sharp blade and nice flat square stringers to cut against. This method of doing strip by strip works best with the dope and thinners as it takes barely any time to dry and the excess tissue on the overlap does not get stuck onto the previous piece. The Hurricane in the picture in my Hellcat build was done like that with good results.
