Cessna 180 Build sign up

Post by Phugoid »

This thread is the register for the Cessna 180 (kit 601) Group Build.

Just post a thread with a yes, yup ok etc, NOTHING ELSE. That way We can get a record of who is in. Keep an eye on this thread I'll also use it to keep the group in touch

For details and Chat on this please see the thread "I've had an Idea Please read"

http://balsamodels.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2206

Comments on that thread are more than Welcome.

Once we have everyone signed up We'll move over to a proper thread for the build itself.

Cessna 180

Post by yellowlynn »

Sorry, but I've been and gone. I have just finished the Cessna 180 except for the windows. After seeing everybody elses work, I'd be embarrased to show it anyway.

I would love to do it, but I am missing an 180 kit.... so, I guess I'll sit out on this one. Good luck to all the builders, and have fun!
Besides, I'll probably learn more from watching anyway.....
And, Not to gang up on Mr. Duckett here, but I think you should try it once, please. You might like it. It's like those gross looking vegetables you used to eat as a kid, they looked like they tasted nasty, but when you actually took a bite, they were good!
The P-38 is arguably the best... Forget that, it is THE BEST fighter of world war two, and is epically AWESOME!

180 build

Post by rayd »

I'll have to pass, maybe next time. I just today received my Fairchild 24, and the smaller $14 Piper cub is coming (too late to cancel). Gee, the 180 Cessna was same price too! (Ordered Piper since I've a Cessna 170 sitting in the closet. Oh well...seems I found out about the contest build of sorts a day or two late. Ok, so I'll watch....I can't smuggle anymore in, and the better half is starting to quiz me about charges lately. (Figured I'd better do my splurging now before the holidays while some bucks still around.)and Hey! do make this a fun thing, a learning experience. :( . Ray

no thanks david, but thanks for the offer! But, you really should build the kit for yourself!

I would like to be in, but I already built the 180 a few years ago (great build), and I don't plan to re-build it any time soon, especially since I already have a queue of three lined up after I finish my Nieuport 11 (Fokker Dr. 1, de Havilland Chipmunk and Beechcraft Musketeer, not necessarily in that order). Additionally, since my hockey season will be starting in about a month, I will have even less time to build. Throw in social life/girls, and I'm surprised I have any time to build my planes!
