Having trouble working this out on my P-40. how do you make it look like the page 21 ?????

83 yr. old and this is my first plane in 74 yrs. Can not see how I can cut out the plastic spinner to put the prop in and still fit it into the cowl. I have put the prop on the out side [front ] of the spinner. See no other way to do it.

I'm building the p-40 also and planned on making a balsa insert out of scrap that will fit inside the spinner. I'll have to put the shaft thru the thrust bearing and anchor it in the balsa insert first,glue it inside the spinner,then attach the blades to the spinner. You can make a small washer out of plastic and super-glue it to the shaft behind the thrust bearing to get your spacing.Hope this helps. I have the laser cut kit and it sure is going together nice.
