Any ideas?

Post by Sai1704 »

I just discovered the amount of scrap wood that gets left out after pushing out the parts. I have about 12 sheets minus the parts, but I feel guilty just throwing them away. Anyone got ideas about reusing the scrap wood?
( I thought about using it as fuel for burning, but its really worthless to try. )

I usually keep the big pieces. You can use it to replace broken parts or "fill in" when your model needs more strength. Until the pieces are smaller than what I think is useful, I will generally save it. You can sort it out by the thickness. As my Grandfather used to say "It's not eating any bread" Meaning... It's not costing you any money to keep it. If you fly models you will always be making repairs. I see EVERYONE at a FAC contest has a box of wood scraps!

I cut the pieces into strip wood (stringers) the larger chunks 1/4 inch and whatever length or so or so Get cut into workable sized pieces and either become replacement parts OR parts for scratch built work. Sometimes they just become Think and chew pieces. (Sit and think at the desk scrap wood in mouth thinking)
