Typhoon

Post by stx44 »

So I have just completed a 900 series Typhoon. Pretty pleased with the looks, will need to wait for a decent day to try out its flight characteristics...

Invasion stripes are handpainted, built with Guillows aftermarket tissue (its different to kit tissue). Only problem was I sealed the decals with a clear coat that went milky white, so I had to hand paint in between the coloured parts and inside the lettering!

That looks great! I have one that I put together about six years ago and flew to death, it is badly in need of repair and battle sacared but still in one piece. Have fun with it!
This too shall pass.

Very Nice Job. Is that camo job paper on paper? How much does the final model weigh? What is the Wing Loading?

It ran to 34 grams, with a 6 inch prop and kit rubber.

I ran a few test flights in the back yard that went ok, however I discovered some movement in the prop button, so will need to tighten the fit to stop that, then head to a more open space for more testing (assuming we get good weather- forecast is 30+ winds tommorrow!)
