Cub 602 build
I just started a 602 Cub build. I was surprised how well the die cutting was. I just sanded the backs a bit, and the parts fell out almost like laser cut.I also have a P-51 900 kit I was gonna do that, but it's missing one of the parts sheets with the tail pieces. anyone know if I can get a free new parts sheet as I intend to use it in "G" challenge, and so I cant make my own. It says must use kit wood.

Re: Cub 602 build
If you bought a kit with something missing I would hope they would make it good.
I thought the G challenge was for 600 and 700 models this year.

Re: Cub 602 build
its very light. i built many 500, 300, and 400 series, but this is my first 600 build. they are definitely more capable of flight it appears. FF i mean. I got a whole big assortment of colored tissue from the AC More Arts & craft store, so I can do a nice color scheme without paint.

Looking good. I found that top cross brace in the nose was very close to the rubber motor. If any downforce is needed the rubber may hit it. I cut it out on mine and made a three piece brace that goes up and over. Mine was tail heavy even after drilling some extra holes in the rear.

Re: Cub 602 build
almost ready for covering.im gonna figure out some kind of better tailwheel setup though. I got some nice colored tissue I bought, and the kit came with white, and a small amount of grey. I would have to paint it for sure, and I relly want this one to fly, so i'm using my tissue. if its against the g contest rules i'll just build a different model. these 600's are a piece of cake, and go together quite well.

Re: Cub 602 build
i must say that if i am to convert another micro RC Guillows; I will do a 500 series. because of the lack of stringers , and B formers it it much easier to fit the linkages ,and servi brici;also the small cowlings make for seemongly easier motor placceent. My 602 cub , I thinks looks more like a Taylorcraft than a Cub.

These fly well,
This is the standard kit, prop etc with 3/16" rubber. We had a lot of fun with it. It now sits on my daughters bedroom shelf.

Re: Cub 602 build
thanks. I'm going to cover it today. I made only 2 slight modifications. One: I added ,and doubled the cross stringers ( for lack of knowing their name)at the cockpit top wing attachment areas,Two: I uses a modified very thin wire tailwheel. I am nowhere close to an experienced flier yet, but have learned enough , and I know this thing wont live through alot of flights without doing these very minor adjustments.

oh, yes, and the bungee cross members on the landing gear are either to be omitted, or made as functional. If I am to just glue two pieces of balsa on, they WILL come off on the first landing.
