rubber winder on sale

Hi everyone,
not a "general building question" however, I thought my fellow board members might benefit from this info. I've been building little ROG planes with my kids and I had a need for a winder - found one on sale and thought I would pass it along-

The description is actually comical. It says it's intended for peanuts and indoor planes only. Not to exceed 4 loops of 1/8" at 100 winds of the winder. If you need 4 loops of 1/8" to fly a peanut you are IN TROUBLE! If you can use this winder to put 1600 winds into 4 loops of 1/8" rubber then this winder can handle anything.

I bought a winder from BMJR hobbies, a few years ago. I don't know if they are still in business. It was a heavy duty winder, ratio was kind of low at 10:1 , I think. If I recall the price was around $13.00.

It's not that comical. If you exceed that amount of torque the winding handle will break off flush with the case. The hook is metal, the winding handle is a none too sturdy piece of plastic. I was winding a motor of one loop of 1/8" and one loop of 3/32" and it broke at 1500 turns. Of course, the model was not a peanut.

What I found comical was the amount of rubber they deemed too much. 4 Loops of 1/8". That's a good amount of rubber for a plastic winder. I use my Rees winder for motors that large.
